On a good day, Port Isla are a four piece band formed in Norwich. In 2011, Will Bloomfield met fellow UEA students Stanley Spilman and Henry Kilmister. They then spent the next couple of months writing and playing acoustic gigs around Norfolk. Willem Olenski soon joined to complete the current line up. They have since played at The Great Escape festival, Latitude festival, thanks to huge support via BBC Introducing, Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg and in 2013 they were invited by Emily Eavis to play Glastonbury. They have released their first two singles, Adventurers and Sinking Ship, for free and to huge acclaim with the latter being selected as Zane Lowe’s ‘Next Hype’. They are both available to download from their Soundcloud page with a debut E.P expected imminently.
On a bad day, they cover 80′s power ballads, complain about beard growth and argue about the correct usage of knots.
